Why can’t FLDS children go to the public schools in Short Creek?
Since the earliest days of the FLDS church, the people have been instructed by their religious leaders to “leave apostates alone severely.” An apostate is a person who has chosen to leave the FLDS religion. In Short Creek, the public school reopened a couple years ago in the FLDS church’s former storehouse, which church members believe is sacred ground. Rather than send their children into that school, FLDS mothers home school instead. Some of them cannot afford the curriculum and other educational materials, so we would like to help them succeed. There is an opportunity to donate and to help in other ways as well. Reach out and let us know.
There are other ways you can help as well. Can you spend 2 minutes a week sharing beautiful, educational content or posting comments online? Do you have resources, connections, skills, time, artistic talent, writing ability, marketing skills, public speaking skills, video skills or brilliant ideas you can contribute to helping us grow? Please check out our volunteer page and join the Voices For Dignity ♥ Cyberangel Society!
