QUOTES FROM PARTICIPANTS
“This course, Critical Thinking and Coercion, opened my mind to many incredible and helpful concepts and studies that show just how ‘good people’ with strong values and desires become victims of psychological coercion.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“I’ve learned of ways to heal and reduce anxiety. I’ve been made aware of many programs and professional counseling that are available to stay safe.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“The class on manipulation and coercion was so revealing and astounding, I cannot even express how much I needed this awareness to prevent the trauma and tragedy I have experienced with my family.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“Who am I anymore? How did this happen to me? It was incredible for me to study this very aspect of how this happened to me. I only had good desires and yet I found myself coming to a great realization that I was in a cult.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“(Through this course) I have come to know and understand about cognitive dissonance and have felt that strong discomfort a person feels when their behavior does not align with their values or beliefs, where I was trying to hold two contradictory beliefs at the same time. I now understand how a predator applies that pressure in such a way that a person becomes willing to alter their standards to reduce that discomfort.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“I learned many things in the Critical Thinking class that have been very enlightening and helpful. Primarily the understanding that I was vulnerable and subjected to things that sabotaged my critical thinking, although I did not understand it at the time. Now that I understand this, it has allowed me to move forward to gain the necessary education to avoid a repeat of this in the future.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“I now understand is the role of the imbalance of power, and how the power can be abused to exploit others.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“(In this course) I learned how predators groom and manipulate. Some people even disguise their intentions as religious to save everyone else, when in reality, they have predatory intentions from the beginning. I missed many red flags that are so clear to me now.”
♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
“I used to scoff at the impact of trauma and fear on thinking, but now I realize how that was used against me.”

“The class was extremely inclusive and shockingly revealing. It helped me better understand my previous and current conditions. It helped me realize that I was still in denial about some things. My personal feeling is that there was so much helpful information in there it was like trying to drink from a firehose. It has increased my confidence in my ability to understand, manage, and protect myself and family from predatorial advances from dangerous people.”
